Estimated Time: 10-20 minutes
Description: As the year winds down, my Kindergarten students and I like to talk about the summer, and the kinds of things we like to do, and of course, like to eat. We use Post-it® Notes to draw our favorite ice cream sundae, complete with ice cream, bowl and toppings. We sit in a circle on the rug and take turns presenting our 'favorite flavors' to the class. We use the Post-its to create a graph - each child sticks his or her post-it to our chart paper under the appropriate flavor to create a bar graph. When we finish the activity, I surprise them by telling them we will have an ice cream sundae party, complete with all our 'favorite flavors'!
