Estimated Time: 20-30 minutes
Description: Every year, my students are instructed to bring in a pack of Post-it® notes as part of their school supplies. Throughout the year, we use the Post-its to respond to literature and our peers. The students record their thoughts while reading in their notebook. Then, the students trade notebooks with a peer who reads their thoughts and responds with a comment on a Post-it which is placed on the notebook page. The Post-its help energize the activity as the students enjoy sharing a variety of colors and styles. In addition, the more ideas they have, the more Post-its they can use!
