Description:
Students write a mini book review on a Post-it note and put it inside a book they have finished reading.
Instructions:
Step 1: Students read a book from the classroom library and write a mini review on a post-it note and put that inside the book. They also rate the book from one to five stars.
Step 2: Students read the reviews when choosing another book.
Step 3: The next student to read the book also leaves a post-it note review.
Step 4: At the end of the year, I can take out the old reviews or leave them.
Step 5: This has perked up reading for some of my reluctant readers.
Afterwards:
Objective: Write a one sentence review of a book.
Lesson Extensions: We can make a spread sheet of the books listing them alphabetically and by number of stars.
Supporting All Learners: Works for any level.
Assignment/Home Connection: The books can be read at home.
