Materials Needed: Post-it® Notes 1 1/2 x 2, file folder

Materials Needed:

  • Post-it® Notes 1 1/2 x 2
  • file folder

Description:

I teach in a 6th grade departmentalized classroom. I often feel so rushed as students are leaving my room and many times students will ask for things or may have missed an assignment. I keep a file folder for each class and on the inside of the folder I have drawn off my seating chart with 2 X 1 1/2 squares. I use the same size Post-it® Notes to make any notes I need to remember. In the afternoon, all I have to do is open the folder and I can quickly see anything that I need to take care of before students go home for the day.

Instructions:

Step 1: On the inside of a file folder, draw off classroom seating chart using 2 X 1 1/2 inch squares for desks.

Step 2: Label each square with a child\'s name.

Step 3: Use 2 X 1 1/2 size post-its to make notes about anything the student may need or any obsrvation about that student that you may need to come back to.

Afterwards:

Objective: This is simply an organizational tool to ensure that the needs of students are met.

Supporting All Learners: This organizer can be used in any classroom situation.
