Royal Multiplication

Materials Needed: Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3, Neon 6 Pads (654-6SSAN), Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 2 x 2, Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 4 x 4, Ultra Colors 3 Pads (675-3SSAU), Burger King paper crowns, marker

Materials Needed:

  • Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3
  • Neon 6 Pads (654-6SSAN)
  • Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 2 x 2
  • Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 4 x 4
  • Ultra Colors 3 Pads (675-3SSAU)
  • Burger King paper crowns

Description:

I write multiplication facts on Post-it® Notes and stick them to Burger King Crowns. Students wear them throughout the day. Students learn their facts while enjoying this fun activity. It appeals to their interests: they love anything post-it and it provides a new twist to a mastering a task that can be extremely grueling. Maybe we can forever eliminate the dreary task of writing those times tables hundreds of times like we have been accustomed to for far too long! This activity lends itself well to so many other possibilities! Numerous facts can be incorporated from all subject areas.

Instructions:

Step 1: Write desired multiplication facts on your favorite size and color post-it notes. Make one for each student. Students can complete this step independently if you would rather have them do it.

Step 2: Stick one Post-it fact on each paper crown.

Step 3: Give each student a crown to wear. Students wear their fact crown throughout the day while seeing visual reminders of their multiplication facts.
