Stuck to History

Materials Needed: Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3, Post-it® Easel Pads, Pencil or crayon

  • Post-it® Easel Pads
  • Pencil or crayon

Description:

This activity teaches the chronological order of historical events using a time line with Post-it® Notes.

Instructions:

Step 1: Divide students into pairs. Each student will have a blank time line and a pad of Post-it Notes.

Step 2: The teacher displays six colored large Post-it Notes representing historical events in mixed up order on the board or smart board.

Step 3: The students copy the historic events on different color Post-it Notes.

Step 4: Each student places the Post-it Notes in chronological order on their time line chart.

Step 5: Tell the students to place the events that occur earliest go first, and the later events go next.

Step 6: The students can place their finished time line made of Post-it® Notes around the classroom.
