Description:
Fun crossword puzzle activity to practice math facts.
Instructions:
Step 1: Divide the students into pairs. Students will be timed 8 minutes to create as many addition equations.
Step 2: The first player writes a problem on Post-it® Notes using an equal sign instead of writing the sum. (5+1=4+2)
Step 3: The next player writes an equation adding up to the same sum. Students keep writing addition equations until the teacher says pencils down.
Step 4: The pair with the most addition problems in a crossword puzzle format in 8 minutes is the winners.
Step 5: This math equation crossword can be used in subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions.
