Animal Mix-Match

Materials Needed: Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3, Pencil or crayons

Materials Needed:

  • Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3
  • Pencil or crayons

Description:

This is a fun creative animal writing activity with Post-it® Notes.

Instructions:

Step 1: Divide students into groups of four. Each group will have a three color pads of Post-it Notes.

Step 2: The teacher displays three colored large Post-it Notes with her drawing of the unique animal made by mixing up different parts of animals. Students create and name their new animal species.

Step 3: Tell students to draw on the three different colored Post-it Notes each animal part. The head of an animal in yellow Post-it Notes, the torso in green Post-it Notes and the legs on blue Post-it Notes.

Step 4: Students pass the head of their animal to the person on the left, and the legs of their animal to the player on the right.

Step 5: The students now name their new animal, description of the animal, its habitat and home.

Step 6: Tell students to make three other mix-matched animals for their group zoo. Students will display their new animal species to the class.
