Book Preview

Materials Needed: Post-it® Notes 1 1/2 x 2, Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 2 x 2, Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3, Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 4 x 4

Materials Needed:

  • Post-it® Notes 1 1/2 x 2
  • Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 2 x 2
  • Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3
  • Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 4 x 4

Description:

Students preview their text books or reading books and mark pages they are curious about, have questions about, are excited about… with Post-it® Notes. As we go through the book, the students can see their comments from the book preview.

Instructions:

Step 1: Give each student a stack of Post-it Notes.

Step 2: Have students preview their textbook (we usually do this to get students excited about our math curriculum).

Step 3: Students can mark comments, questions, ideas, concerns, etc. on the Post-it Notes and mark the pages of the book as they preview it.

Step 4: Throughout the year the students will see their Post-it Notes and be able to recall their impressions of the text before they had reached this point in the curriculum.
