Scavenger Hunt

Estimated Time: 10-20 minutes

Materials Needed: Post-it® Notes 1 1/2 x 2, Pastel (653-A), Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3

Materials Needed:

  • Post-it® Notes 1 1/2 x 2
  • Pastel (653-A)
  • Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 x 3

Description:

Before a unit test in Science or Social Studies, my students review key vocabulary or concepts using Post-it® Notes to search for matches.

Instructions:

Step 1: 1. Vocab words on written on one color of Post-it Notes and posted around the room 2. Definitions are written on another and students pick one as they come in the room 3. On 1-2-3 GO, students circulate around the room trying to match their definition to the vocabulary word. 4. Depending on the content, when students think they have a match, they either use it in a sentence, draw an illustration, or rephrase definition in own words. 5. Student collect points for correct matches - winner gets package of sticky notes :)
