Description:
I use this activity as a wrap-up at the end of class. It would also be a good APK to start class. I give the students a math problem that is similar to what we have been working on in class. They have 2 minutes to work and solve the problem on a Post-it® Note. On their way out the door, they stick their Post-it Note to the door or a section of the wall. I am able to see quickly who is understanding and who is not. The next day, I have attached a Pixie Stick or a piece of bubble gum to all of the problems that were done correctly.
Instructions:
Step 1: Give each student one Post-it Note. Write a problem or question on the board for all of them to answer.
Step 2: Give the students 2 minutes to either solve the problem or answer the question.
Step 3: Have the students stick their Post-it Notes on the door or a place on a wall before they leave the room. You can look over them quickly and see which students understand and which ones need more practice.
