Letter Scrambling

Description:

Students use 3″x3″ Post-it® Notes to play word scramble games in teams.

Instructions:

Step 1: Divide the class into an even number of teams of two to four students "A" teams and "B" teams). Give each team a pad of 3"x3" Post-it® Super Sticky Notes. Pair each "A" team with a "B" team.

Step 2: Let the teams huddle to select a spelling word to scramble for the opponents, then write the word on Post-it® Notes, one letter per note.

Step 3: Team members attach the letters to the wall, chalkboard or nearby desk, hiding the letters from their opponents, who do the same thing with a word they've chosen.

Step 4: When both teams in a pair are ready, the teams switch positions and try to unscramble the word first.

Step 5: Continue the challenge until nearly all of the spelling words have been used.
